Welcome!
When my unusual last name, Haptonstall, lead me to the discovery of a 12th century village in Yorkshire, England named Heptonstall I decided to take a trip there. I used the area as kind of a hub always returning after visting other spots in Britain and soon the place started feeling like a second home. The following summer I spent 3 1/2 months in the UK and I’m planning another long trip for the summer of 2015. Going to the UK is one of the best decision I’ve ever made Not only is it a beautiful place but I’ve made alot of good friends there. This blog isn’t for them though, it’s for Americans visiting or moving to Britain with no idea of what to expect other than what’s in the typical travel guide. I will talk about places to go, things to do and that sort of thing but also about the people, the language the culture, political trends and anything else English which is why I’m calling this blog The Heart of Britain.
